Does this sound like you?
You fall into bed exhausted, and at 3 a.m. your eyes pop open like someone flipped a switch. You lie there going over tomorrow's meetings, the email you forgot to answer, whether you locked the back door. By the time you fall back asleep, the alarm goes off.
By mid-afternoon you're running on coffee and willpower, and something sweet starts calling your name. You're eating less than you did at 35 and your middle keeps getting thicker anyway. The jeans that fit last spring are sitting in the back of the closet.
You've tried cutting carbs. You've tried more cardio. You've told yourself you just need more discipline. And somewhere along the way you started saying things like "I don't recognize myself" and "I used to be the strong one."
I hear those exact words from women every week. They're usually running companies, teams or whole households, and they can't figure out why their own body stopped cooperating.
WHAT'S ACTUALLY GOING ON
It isn't your discipline. Two things are happening at once.
01
Your sleep broke
When you don't sleep, the hormone that makes you hungry goes up and the one that tells you you're full goes down. So you wake up tired and hungry, and your cravings get louder all day. Nobody out-willpowers that for long.
02
You're losing muscle
After midlife, women lose a little muscle every year, and muscle is what burns calories while you sit at your desk. Less muscle means a slower metabolism, even if you eat exactly what you used to.
More cardio and less food makes both problems worse. You get more tired and lose more muscle. That's why the old tricks stopped working.
HOW BENCH SEASON WORKS
We fix it in the right order.
MONTH 1
Sleep
We calm your nervous system at night, time your coffee and wine so they stop waking you up, and build a dinner that keeps your blood sugar steady until morning. Most women feel this part first.
MONTH 2
Strength
Short strength workouts, 20 to 30 minutes, two or three times a week, plus enough protein to actually build muscle. This is where the scale starts moving and your clothes start fitting differently.
MONTH 3
Make it stick
We lock in the habits, look honestly at what has made you quit before, and build your plan for day 91 and beyond so this doesn't fall apart when the group ends.
What you get
✓ A live call with me every week for 12 weeks. You bring your questions and your numbers, and I help you adjust. This is where the change happens.
✓ Strength workouts built for busy women, 20 to 30 minutes, at home or at the gym.
✓ A weekly tracker for your weight, waist and sleep, so you can see your progress in black and white.
✓ A small group of women going through the same thing, so you're not doing it alone.
✓ A short video lesson each week, 10 to 15 minutes, that you can watch on your phone.
✓ A nutrition plan built for sleep and fat loss. No starving, no complicated tracking.
✓ The Bench Signal, a 30-second morning check that tells you whether today is a push day or a protect day. On a red day you stop fighting your body and start working with it.
This is for you if
You're over 40 and in perimenopause: periods changing, night sweats, moods you don't recognize, or you just know something shifted
You wake up between 2 and 4 a.m. and can't get back to sleep
The weight has settled around your middle and what used to work doesn't anymore
You used to feel strong in your body and you want that back
You can give this 90 days and show up once a week
This is not for you if
You want a crash diet or a quick fix
You want someone yelling at you to push harder
You're not ready to make yourself a priority for 90 days
You have a medical condition that needs your doctor first. This works alongside your doctor, not in place of them.

WHO I AM
I'm Bernadette Andersen.
I've worked in functional medicine for about 20 years, and I'm a certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, holistic nutritionist and health coach. I work with women over 40 who spend their days taking care of everyone and everything else, and I've watched the same pattern play out again and again: when a woman gets her sleep back and gets strong again, she starts trusting herself again, in her body and in the rest of her life.
The goal: 10 pounds and sleeping through the night by day 90.
Every body is different, so we measure every week. You'll know exactly where you stand the whole way through.
